They would have to quit half-heartedly supporting video features, support open standards, donвЂ™t require SLI for IQ, and sell it for an affordable price. Nvidia is so screwed up, I probably wonвЂ™t ever purchase a card from them. That in itself is a good reason not to buy from them. Nvidia is forcing companies like newegg to hide the actual price of a card, to keep prices artificially high/inflated. Nvidia is blatantly abusing the system, and should not be applauded for doing it.ДonвЂ™t forget the mafia like strong-arming Nvidia is doing to e-tailers either. The whole point of dx10 and up, was to cut the crap and create standards. Totally ridiculous, and ati/microsoft should sue them for it. Now if NvidiaвЂ™s implementation of dx10.1 is the only way used in a game, then that is a smack in the face for standardization. However, they included some of the important parts unofficially, to keep them from completely losing if dx10.1 did catch on. Nvidia knows that dx10.1 is necessary for performance, but didnвЂ™t officially include it in the 260вЂ™s to keep it from being used in games. They cheat in drivers, benchmarks(3dmark), and in games by having games programmed specifically for their cards.ДЄnd these specific optimizations may eventually affect compatibility in their own future cards. I donвЂ™t like nvidia because they cheat, donвЂ™t innovate other than speed draining gimmicks(physx/gf6-SM3), and overcharge whenever possible.

(and I am not saying my opinion is law, unlike certain nvidia fans here.) Now for my OPINION of why I donвЂ™t like Nvidia: (good video support is one of my requirements for a 300$ video card.) It is not a major feature to be basing a purchase over, unlike dx10.1 and integrated 7.1/HDMI and better video processing. There are other, more optimal ways to use physics, phsyx does not have a monopoly on that market. The only вЂњfeatureвЂќ nvidia has вЂњoverвЂќ ati is phsyx, and it is pretty much a worthless, performance draining gimmick. It is not all that, the bees knees, and/or вЂњthe bombвЂќ. The 260 core 216 is competitive, not better, and needs overclocking more.
